Doedijns to supply upending control system for Gina Krog launch jacket

Doedijns has received an order to supply the complete upending control system for the Gina Krog launch jacket currently being fabricated at the Heerema yard in Vlissingen.

VLISSINGEN, the Netherlands – Doedijns has received an order to supply the complete upending control system (UCS) for the Gina Krog launch jacket currently being fabricated at the Heerema yard in Vlissingen.
Weighing 17,000 metric tons (18,739 tons) with a height of 142 m (466 ft), a footprint of 60 x 50 m (197 x 164 ft) and a top of 40 x 30 m (131 x 98 ft), the Gina Krog jacket is the largest launch jacket ever built atHeerema Fabrication Group’s Vlissingen yard. The jacket will be completed in April 2015.
Doedijns’ UCS will have a hydraulic power unit, including control panels to control the flooding and venting valves, an umbilical and reeler, hosing, and valves and actuators.
The UCS will be delivered to Heerema Vlissingen in 3Q 2014. To be delivered toStatoil, the jacket is destined for the Gina Krog field development in the Norwegian central part of the North Sea.
