OTC 2016: Dresser-Rand promotes expanded offshore solutions

HOUSTON– Dresser-Rand, part of Siemens Power and Gas, will showcase its expanded solutions portfolio for the worldwide oil, gas, petrochemical, and process industries at the 2016 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, May 2-5.
Within the oil and gas industry, Siemens offers electrification, automation, digitalization, rotating equipment and environmental solutions. The Dresser-Rand business’ product portfolio includes turbo and reciprocating compressors; steam turbines; industrial and aero-derivative gas turbines; high-speed engines; and modular power substations (E-Houses).
The integration of the former Siemens compressor products and services businesses and the Rolls Royce industrial aero-derivative gas turbine business with Dresser-Rand is well under way, Siemens said.
The Dresser-Rand business has more than six decades of experience supplying reciprocating gas compressors for offshore applications including FPSO, TLP, spars, and FLNG ranging from 100 kW to 33.6 MW.
Its centrifugal compressors are available up to 500,000 cu m/h and 1,000 bar for on- and offshore liquefied natural gas applications, enhanced oil recovery, gas lift, oil and gas separation, gas processing, gas reinjection, depletion, export gas, and subsea applications, Siemens said.
The DATUM integrated compression system compression system is a centrifugal compressor, driven by a high-speed, close-coupled motor, with an integrated centrifugal gas-liquid separation unit, packaged with process gas coolers in a single module.
As part of this system, the DATUM I subsea compressor offers high head, back-to-back configuration and nine stages in a single casing. Siemens said that benefits include overall footprint and weight reductions, easy maintenance, high reliability, lower overall installation cost, and shorter installation, commissioning, and start-up time.
Among its power generation and mechanical drive solutions, OTC visitors will have the opportunity to see Siemens 39.2 MW SGT-750, a twin-shaft industrial gas turbine model with a free high-speed power turbine designed for the oil and gas industry. The SGT-750 turbine has a power output of 38 MW for power generation and 39 MW for mechanical drive.
The modular and flexible package design with single-lift capability is suitable for both onshore and offshore applications, including FLNG. The turbine was specifically designed for long operating times with extended overhaul intervals, and features easy maintenance, high availability and outstanding reliability, the company said.
In addition, Siemens said the KG2-3G gas turbine is designed to meet emissions regulations and is designed for continuous or emergency stand-by power supply. KG2-3G gas turbines for power generation have a 99.3% start reliability, full-load throw-on capacity, and require minimal maintenance. The KG2 generator set has been designed to meet power requirements for power from 1 MW to 12 MW (single and multiple units).
