OSLO, Norway — FutureOn has signed a three-year contract with offshore Angola operator Azule Energy to extend the supply of its FieldTwin digital design and visualization platform.
Azule will use the system to help develop four projects including the 1-Bbbl Agogo Integrated West Hub in Block 15/06, with the potential to produce up to 175,000 bbl/d.
FutureOn already works with Azule’s co-owners bp and Eni.
Andreas Hoel Gaarder, the company’s vice president Middle East and Asia Pacific, said, “The greatest challenge currently facing the energy sector is the expectation to deliver efficient and effective projects with less resources. Project teams are leaner than ever before, yet the pressure to produce more work – and to produce it quickly – has never been greater. FieldTwin solves this challenge, enabling dispersed project teams to create collaborative working environments where they can accelerate outcomes, reduce costs and de-risk operations.”
The software, he added, suits deepwater brownfield expansions and new field developments. This is the company’s first contract in West Africa, and it could lead to further adoption of the FieldTwin technology across the local supply chain, he claimed.
