The HSI joint venture has moved the topside for the Jasmund offshore substation and lifted the transformers at HSM Offshore Energy’s Stormpolder yard in the Netherlands.

Client 50Hertz commissioned the 300-MW substation to serve as a connection point between the Windanker wind farm, northeast of the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea, and Germany’s electricity grid.

HSI, a consortium between HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the substation and its supporting jacket.

The Jasmund OSS topside has dimensions of 48 m by 33 m by 17.5 m and weighs about 4,500 metric tons.
