MONACO — SBM Offshore has acquired the remaining 49% equity held by its partner in the SBM Nauvata engineering and operational center in Bangalore, India.
It has renamed the facility SBM Offshore India. The company, in its latest results statement, said its strategy in the country is to develop the complex to provide turnkey project execution and support to operations and innovation.
SBM also provided an update on its ongoing FPSO construction projects:
For the Almirante Tamandaré, the topsides modules lifting/integration campaign is progressing and the vessel is on track for delivery in 2024, with Petrobras expecting first oil from the vessel at the Búzios Field in the Santos basin early in 2025.
Modules fabricated in Brazil for the FPSO Alexandre de Gusmão for Petrobras’s Mero Field are being delivered to the yard in China, where topsides construction is progressing. First oil is scheduled for 2025.
Decommissioning has started at the FPSO Capixaba following the cessation of production in 2022. In May 2023, the company awarded M.A.R.S. (Modern American Recycling Services Europe) the recycling contract, using its EU-approved Green recycling facility in Denmark.
