LONDON  The number of oil and gas sector contracts awarded globally dipped 7% in third-quarter 2022, to 1,542, according to GlobalData, compared with 1,662 in the second quarter.

Its report, "Oil and Gas Industry Contracts Analytics by Sector (Upstream, Midstream and Downstream), Region, Planned and Awarded Contracts and Top Contractors, Q3 2022," also noted an increase in overall value for the third-quarter awards to $47.7 billion.

Pritam Kad, Oil & Gas analyst at GlobalData, said Keppel Shipyard helped keep the momentum going with two EPC contracts from Petrobras worth $8.76 billion for the P-80, P-82  and P-83 FPSOs for the Búzios Field in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

Operations and maintenance accounted for 53% of the third-quarter contracts, followed by procurement scope (24%) and awards with multiple scopes, such as construction, design and engineering, installation and procurement (12%)

Other notable awards were ADNOC Drillings’ two contracts worth a combined $3.4 billion and five framework agreements with Schlumberger, Halliburton, Weatherford, Al Ghaith Oilfield and Al Mansoori Directional Drilling.
