KINTORE, UK – Aleron has developed new crane-deployed tools for offshore decommissioning, focused on subsea pipelines and surrounding protective measures.

The mattress orientation, lifting and extraction tool is for recovery of subsea concrete mattresses.

Deployment is guided and monitored by the ROV to ensure maximized contact with the mattress area, reducing the risk of falling parts if the mattress is not fully intact.

All four grab points work independently to help secure awkwardly positioned mattresses.

The pipe recovery tool can recover varying lengths of pipe from the seabed and return them to the deck or lifting basket. This can either be surface controlled or hot stabbed and ROV controlled.

The system comprises a load beam with two pipe grabs positioned at either end of the tool and a total SWL of 16 metric tons (17.6 tons).
