ABERDEEN, UK – First Marine Solutions (FMS) is teaming up with Rigmar Group subsidiary Interocean Marine Services.
The resultant venture FMS Interocean will offermooring solutions to the oil and gas industry worldwide including joint provision of marine, engineering, moorings, and survey services.
FMS, established in 2010, claims to own one of the largest and newest fleets of mooring equipment, while Interocean, formed in 2007, is a marine services specialist that has completed more than 750 offshore projects over the past five years.
FMS has a large quayside and warehouse facility in Montrose, eastern Scotland, and also holds stock in Norway, Canada, Holland, and Trinidad. It employs 25 staff and contractors at its bases in Aberdeen and Montrose.
Interocean has operations in St Johns, Newfoundland, and employs 40 staff and contractors, including mariners, naval architects, and engineers.
The new alliance has already secured its first contract, an 18-month North Sea project, and has plans to introduce mooring integrity and marine assurance services over the next few months.
