ROME -- Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development has awarded a production concession for the Guendalina gas field in the Adriatic Sea, operated by Eni.
Partner Mediterranean Oil & Gas (MOG) expects development activities to start later this month or in February. The program involves construction and installation of a production platform, due to be completed this year; and drilling of two wells during the first half of 2011. Production is scheduled to start before end-2011, with normalized output of around 20 MMcf/d.
Guendalina is 25 km (15.5 mi) offshore eastern Italy, in a water depth of 20 m (65.6 ft), with independently certified 2P gas reserves of 22 bcf. The development will be linked to Eni’s existing Amelia and Tea offshore production facilities.
