KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia —DNV and Petronas have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning deployment of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS).
They plan to cooperate on initiatives drawing on their respective technical, resource and research capabilities.
The MOU covers the following areas:
Technical matters including safety, environment, risk, technology and qualification of storage sites;
Legislation and regulation;
Capability development; and
Commercial areas.
DNV has undertaken research into CCUS issues such as geological storage, pipeline reuse and the CO2 shipment, also publishing recommended practices covering the entire CCUS value chain.
