Falcon expanding offshore helicopter fleet

Leonardo and Falcon Aviation Services have signed a letter of intent to procure two new helicopters to support offshore oil and gas operations in Africa.

CASCINA COSTA, ItalyLeonardo and Falcon Aviation Services have signed a letter of intent to procure two new helicopters to support offshore oil and gas operations in Africa.

The new AW169 light intermediate twin engine helicopters will join Falcon’s fleet, which currently includes five offshore-configured AW169s for use in the UAE and elsewhere.

The new-generation twin engine light intermediate category aircraft, weighing 4.6-4.8 metric tons (5.07-5.3 tons), is said to offer multi-role capabilities.

Falcon Aviation is based at Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen Executive Airport and Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport.
