ABERDEEN, UK – India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) has contracted Sparrows Group to refurbish eight offshore pedestal cranes.

The company will carry out repairs, upgrades, and replacement of components to improve reliability and safely extend the life of the cranes for up to 20 years.

Work on the project is expected to start next month and be completed by the end of 2022. The team will work on-site, to reduce cost and time of refurbishment, and from Sparrows’ local facility in Mumbai.

In 2018, ONGC contracted to the company to refurbish 21 cranes.
