ABERDEEN, UK – Enpro Subsea has started onshore testing of its Flow Intervention Services (FIS) technology ahead of subsea field trials planned later this year.
The development is co-funded by Scottish Enterprise.
Previously Enpro developed a lower-pressure 10,000-psi (689-bar) version of its tool. The new project involves a 15,000-psi (1,034-bar) version, extending the technology’s capabilities to support high pressure offshore wells, most prevalent in the Gulf of Mexico.
To date the 10,000-psi version has been deployed for well stimulation in various campaigns offshore West Africa. The system is designed to improve production by stimulating the reservoir and increasing ultimate recovery from existing subsea wells.
