LARNACA, Cyprus – Prosafe has won contracts for two of its offshore construction support semisubmersibles in the UK North Sea.
TheRegalia will be reactivated under a 60-day program starting next June to perform gangway connected DP operations. Prosafe plans five-yearly special periodic survey in line with classification society requirements.
The Safe Caledonia will provide accommodation services in support of a platform turnaround, due to coincide with the Forties pipeline system (FPS) shutdown in mid-June 2020. However, Prosafe has the option to substitute another vessel in its fleet for the 80-day charter.
Combined value of the contracts including mobilization and demobilization fees, but excluding the option periods, is around $23 million.
Jesper Kragh Andresen, CEO of Prosafe, said: “Reactivation of the Regalia was always a consideration and this award pays for the workscope and allows the vessel to be ready at short notice for future opportunities in both UK and Norway.”
