MOSCOW – Construction of the two parallel TurkStream gas pipelines in the Black Sea is nearing completion, according to Gazprom.
Late last month, 1,775 km (1,103 mi) of the two strings had been installed, representing around 95% of the overall length of TurkStream’s offshore section.
The landfall near the Russian town of Anapa has been completed and start-up operations should finish later this year. In addition, areception terminal for the gas is under construction near Kiyikoy on the Turkish coast.
Both gas pipelines should enter service before the end of 2019.
In the Baltic Sea, Gazprom added, theNord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction project is on schedule, with offshore pipelaying under way in the exclusive economic zone of Finland and in German territorial waters.
