OSLO, Norway – Panoro Energy has issued an update on development activities in the Dussafu Marin permit offshore Gabon.

The subsea tree has been installed at the DTM-3H production well in the Tortue field’s Gamba reservoir and the well is now ready for production. This completed the Phase 1 development well drilling program at Tortue.

Borr Drilling’s jackupBorr Norve has since transferred to the Ruche North East location and has spudded the DRNEM-1 well, targeting an undrilled four-way structure in the Gamba reservoir with Dentale potential.

The well site is 3.5 km (2.2 mi) northeast of the Ruche field in water depths of 117 m (384 ft). The partners are hoping to delineate further resources for a potential future second production hub in the Ruche area.

Operator BW Energy anticipates first oil from Phase 1 at Tortue later this year, at initial production rates in the range of 10,000-15,000 b/d.

TheFPSOBW Adolo has reached Gabonese waters and is undergoing preparations for installation and the production start-up.

Planning for Phase 2 at Tortue is also under way and will likely entail further production wells in the Gamba and Dentale D6 reservoirs.
