YORK, UK – Norske Shell has contracted C-Kore to deploy its subsea testing tools this fall on the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea.
They will investigate the insulation resistance and continuity of electrical lines subsea.
C-Kore’s monitoring units assist offshore installation/commissioning and fault-finding campaigns. By testing directly onto the subsea equipment, the need for platform-led testing or down-lines is said to be eliminated.
Cynthia Pikaar, sales manager for C-Kore Systems, said: “Our equipment saves customers a lot of time on their subsea testing operations, allowing them to reduce the operation’s overall CO2 [carbon-dioxide] footprint.”
