TEHRAN, Iran – Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC) is preparing to install the second platform for phases 22-24 of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.
POGC’s Farshad Heidari, head of the project’s offshore section, told news service Shana that installation of platform 24A and connecting bridge would soon be completed.
To date 11 wells had been drilled from the platform location and once seven more had been completed, gas production would be ready to start.
Iranian companies executed all stages of engineering, construction, and execution of the platform with domestic suppliers also responsible for providing most of the equipment.
Late last week theHL 5000 barge installed the 2,300-metric ton (2,535-ton) Phase 22 platform, which is due to be operational by the end of November.
This was the first of 10 platforms to be constructed by the Iran Marine Industrial Co. (SADRA) under an agreement with POGC.
SADRA and Petro Sina Arya Oil & Gas Co. are responsible for developing phases 22-24, which will collectively produce 56 MMcm/d of sour gas, 50 MMcm/d of methane, 2,900 t/day of LPG, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, and 400 tons/d of sulfur.
