Azinor Catalyst has signed a letter of intent with Transocean for provision of the semisubmersible Transocean Leader to drill an appraisal well on the Agar – Plantain structure in the UK central North Sea.

LONDON – Azinor Catalyst has signed a letter of intent with Transocean for provision of the semisubmersible Transocean Leader to drill an appraisal well on the Agar – Plantain structure in the UK central North Sea.
The well should spud this summer, assuming receipt of required regulatory approvals.
The well location is in the South Viking Graben, 12 km (7.5 mi) east of Apache’s Beryl field in UK waters and 14 km (9 mi) west of Aker BP’s Alvheim hub on the Norwegian side.
Drilling should last 35 days, including a side track to test the Plantain prospect.
