Sembcorp completes North Sea Culzean jackup drilling rig

Sembcorp Marine has delivered the jackup Maersk Highlander to Maersk Highlander UK.

SINGAPORE – Sembcorp Marine has delivered the jackup Maersk Highlander (formerly known as Hercules Highlander) to Maersk Highlander UK.
The newbuild rig, based on the Friede & Goldman JU 2000E design, is said to be fully compliant with UK offshore HSE standards. It will drill development wells forMaersk’s Culzean field in the UK central North Sea. Maersk Highlander can operate in water depths of up to 400 ft (122 m) and drill to depths of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).
Capabilities include a 2-million lb drilling capacity, 6,000 bbl of mud capacity, 28,000-kip pre-load capacity for the legs, and accommodation for up to 150 personnel.
Construction started in September 2014 and was completed on schedule.
