Ultamec supplying handling system for newbuild Island offshore vessel

Ulmatec Handling Solutions will provide launch and recovery systems (LARS) for a new construction vessel Vard is building in Norway for Island Offshore.

The ship is based on the VARD 3 25 design, co-developed with Island Offshore. It is due to be delivered in 2027.

Ulmatec’s E-LARS systems incorporate active heave compensation and are operable in ultradeep water.
