Specialist aluminum shipbuilder Strategic Marine has delivered the Amarco S1 fast crew boat vessel to Bruneian offshore operator Amarco.
The 42-m-long vessel has three Baudouin 12M26.3 engines with ZF3050 gearboxes, and it can reach sailing speeds of more than 28.5 knots. It is also prepared for the future integration of a gyro stabilizer and a motion-compensated gangway.
Its hybrid power system is designed to enable running entirely on battery power during certain operations.
Other features include an external firefighting system (FIFI) and an oil dispersant system; a bow thruster and auto-trimming interceptors, said to provide greater control during complex offshore tasks; cruise-style interiors, larger windows, reclining chairs with tray tables, and USB charging ports for all passengers.
