ULSTEINVIK, Norway — The Olympic Boreas newbuild offshore construction support vessel has been launched from the dock hall at Ulstein Verft.

This is the first of two sister vessels ordered by Olympic, based on the Ulstein SX222 design from Ulstein Design & Solutions. They are 89.6 m long with a beam of 19.2 m and can accommodate 126 people in 91 cabins.

General outfitting for Olympic Boreas is underway, including work on the accommodation, electrical installations, piping and mechanical installations. External paintwork was completed while the vessel was inside the dock hall.

For both vessels, the hulls are built by the Crist yard in Poland. They will be powered by diesel-electric propulsion with variable speed and large battery energy storage systems.
