Bergesen D.Y. ASA chose Peter Brotherhood Ltd., a UK engineering company, to supply a steam turbine for theSendje Berge, an FPSO vessel moored off the coast of Nigeria.

Peter Brotherhood will design, manufacture and install a 7-MW turbo alternator set for the vessel. The set will consist of a turbine, gearbox, and alternator, all mounted on a common bedplate, which incorporates the oil system. The turbine will accept steam from gas-fired boilers on the vessel and will exhaust to the ship's existing condenser.

The steam turbine, gearbox, and oil system will be tested on steam at Peter Brotherhood's manufacturing facility and will be delivered in August, 2004. Engineers from the company will then commission the machine on board the vessel.
