Island Offshore orders two LNG-power PSVs from STX

STX Norway Offshore has contracted to supply Island Offshore with two LNG-powered platform supply vessels.

ÅLESUND, Norway – STX Norway Offshore has contracted to supply Island Offshore with two LNG-powered platform supply vessels. Delivery is scheduled in 2Q and 3Q 2012 and the value is set at NOK 900 million ($143.67 million).
The hulls will be built at Braila in Romania, and outfitted in Brevik, Norway. The vessels are of Rolls-Royce UT 776 CDG design, based on the series of six vessels for Island Offshore from STX.
