SINGAPORE -- Contracts to convert two tankers into FPSOs and to build five AHTS vessels at a total of $132.3 million were awarded to Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd.
Keppel will convert the 310,000 dwt crude carrierLitiopa into a 100,000 b/d of oil FPSO with storage of nearly 2 MM bbl for SBM. When complete in 2008, the renamed Saxi is scheduled to to to ExxonMobil for Kizomba C development offshore Angola.
The shuttle tankerFront Puffin will be converted into an FPSO to produce 40,000 b/d of oil wtih storage oif 720,000 bbl. It is to be leased to AED Oil Ltd. for the PUffin field, Bonaparte basin, North Western Australia.
Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd got the five AHTS construction contract from Whitesea Shipping & Supply Llc. The vessels are destined for the Middle East.
