HOUSTON -- RWE Dea Nile has awarded Atwood Oceanics a two-year contract for the Atwood Aurora, a LeTourneau Super 116E jackup currently being constructed in Brownsville, Texas, for work offshore Egypt. The contract also includes an optional one-year extension.
Atwood Oceanics has also received a contract for theSouthern Cross from an operator in West Africa for the drilling of one well. This contract is expected to begin immediately upon the rig completing its current contract offshore Italy (estimated at the end of August 2008).
