It will be renamed Island Ocean following conversion and an upgrade to a more modern vessel with a 150-metric-ton crane. It will perform subsea inspection, maintenance and repair, light construction, and recycling services to DeepOcean’s offshore oil and gas and renewable energy clients.
As part of the process, the vessel will undergo an extension of about 11 m, with the addition of dual ROV hangars and a launch and recovery system, lengthening of the superstructure, and upgrade of the DP system upgraded, and inclusion of a large battery pack.
Further modifications will enable transfer of redundant energy to the battery pack.
