MUMBAI  OCS Services has begun its role as operations and maintenance contractor for the KG D6 RUBY FPSO.

The vessel is owned by the Reliance Industries Ltd. and bp joint venture.

OCS Services also will be responsible for operation of a subsea production system using topside subsea control system equipment installed on the FPSO. The FPSO is currently deployed in the MJ Field off the East Coast of India, operating in deep water.

This past summer Reliance Industries and partner bp started gas/condensate production from the deepwater MJ Field in Block KG D6.

In first-half 2021, Reliance Industries and bp started production from the Satellite Cluster gas field in Block KG D6. At the time, the companies had been developing three deepwater projects in the concession: R Cluster, which came onstream December 2020, Satellite Cluster, and MJ. Together they were expected to deliver about 1 Bcf/d by 2023, the companies reported in 2021.
