OSLO, Norway — Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore has contracted Glamox to supply lighting for Havfram Wind’s two new wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs).
The vessels will be capable of installing next-generation larger wind turbines with rotor blades of more than 300 m in diameter.
Glamox will fit about 3,300 energy-efficient LED luminaires in the interiors and exteriors of each vessel, both of which are under construction in Yantai, China, and due to start operations in 2026.
They will also have capacity to carry and install XXL monopiles weighing up to 3,000 metric tons in water depths using their 3,200-mt capacity cranes. They will also feature battery-hybrid drivetrain technology to support energy efficiency.
Glamox will provide LED luminaires for all parts of the vessels including crew quarters, corridors, stairwells, ladders, platforms, gangways and work areas, ranging from floodlights, searchlights, emergency and explosion-proof lighting, navigation and signal lights through ceiling lights, linear luminaires, downlights and compact bed lights.
Deliveries will take place in February and December 2024.
