ABERDEEN, UK — The Noble Innovator jackup has reached the new £400 million ($482 million) Aberdeen South Harbour where it will undergo a 60- to 90-day maintenance program ahead of a decommissioning job for bp in the UK central North Sea.

Local vendors will provide diving, welding, inspection, painting, scaffolding, accommodation, catering and logistics at the new harbor, which is close to completion.

According to Port of Aberdeen, the development will turn Aberdeen into Scotland’s largest berthage port, with the tidally unrestricted deepwater berths, laydown space and heavy-lift capacity suited to larger vessels.

Noble Innovator will undergo its five-yearly special periodic survey to ensure the rig continues to operate safely.
