WOODBRIDGE, UK – Amarinth has completed a $1.5-million order from Armada Madura for vertical pumps for a new FPSO under construction for ONGC.
The vessel will operate at the KG-DWN 98/2 field, 22 km (13.7 mi) offshore the east coast of Kakinada, India.
It is designed to produce up to 90,000 b/d of oil with storage for up to 1.3 MMbbl, and is engineered to withstand monsoon conditions.
Amarinth’s scope covered six API 610 VS4 pumps: two are pour point depressant pumps, 18 m (59 ft) long, while the other four are methanol lift pumps, 10 m (33 ft) in length. All will feature PT100 temperature sensors along the length of the pumps to monitor the temperature of each bearing individually.
For each pump, the sensors are terminated in a top surface junction box, with wiring to a control box via an armored umbilical arrangement to an independent instrument skid.
All the pumps, wiring, and instrumentation are rated to ATEX Zone 0. A supporting system of brackets is designed to attach each pump to its tank during installation, so that as the pumps are lowered into the tanks they remain aligned, reducing vibration and wear during operation.
Following DNV certification, the pumps were disassembled at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK, and then shipped to the FPSO shipyard in Singapore.
