AqualisBraemar to oversee construction of two more OuYang installation vessels

OuYang Offshore Co., Ltd. has awarded AqualisBraemar the construction supervision contract for two newbuild self-elevating wind turbine installation vessels.

OSLO, Norway – OuYang Offshore Co., Ltd. has awarded AqualisBraemar the construction supervision contract for two newbuild self-elevating wind turbine installation vessels.

The OuYang 003 and OuYang 004 will be built at Dayang Offshore Equipment Co., Ltd.’s shipyard in Jiangsu, China.

The company’s on-site team will monitor and supervise the construction to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the contract specifications plus flag and class requirements.

The project will be managed from its office in Shanghai, China, which previously held the same role for the OuYang 001 and OuYang 002.

Both units are identical, 75.6 m (248 ft) in length, 40 m (131 ft) in beam, 7 m (23 ft) in depth, and four hydraulic pin legs. Both vessels are self-propelled, with an operational water depth of up to 50 m (164 ft) and accommodation for up to 68 persons.

They are both equipped with a 600-metric ton (661-ton) leg fitted crane, with a lifting height of 140 m (459 ft) from sea level. Both units are capable of the installing 10-MW wind turbines in China.  

The value of the new contract was not disclosed.
