Worley to hook-up Mad Dog 2 FPU in the Gulf of Mexico

SYDNEY, Australia – BP has contracted Worley to provide hook-up and commissioning integration services for the Argos floating production unit (FPU) in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

Under the contract, Worley will prepare for arrival of the FPU in the Gulf of Mexico and complete final systems commissioning in Texas, offshore hook-up at the Mad Dog field, and handover of the platform to BP’s Global Operations Organization.

The Mad Dog Phase 2 development plan includes a new semisubmersible floating production platform with the capacity to produce up to 140,000 b/d of crude oil from 14 production wells. It is planned to be commissioned in 2021.
