Black Swan Threats and Offshore Resilience

Are we building resilience in offshore projects? Take the survey!

Black Swans – unpredictable, high-impact events – have become an unwelcome factor in most offshore projects. They can appear as unexpected changes in government policy, unusual disruptions to the supply chain, unanticipated failure of key players, or unprecedented technical issues. We read about these events all the time. Although a single Black Swan may be improbable, it has become increasingly likely that that one or more will impact an offshore project today.

Offshore is conducting a survey to get a clearer picture of where the offshore oil and gas industry is today with respect to managing Black Swans. What types of risk are we most concerned about? What trends do we see? And what are we doing about it? Once the survey is complete, we’ll be sharing the results with everyone who participated as well as at the upcoming Deepwater Operations and Topsides, Platforms & Hulls Conference & Exhibition, November 5 – 7, 2024 in Galveston.

Please take a few minutes to answer the 3 questions below as they apply to your current or planned offshore projects. Of course, the survey is anonymous, and all responses are confidential.
