Norske Shell goes to FMC for Ormen Lange subsea systems

Norske Shell has signed a $95-million agreement with FMC Technologies Inc. for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment for Ormen Lange.

HOUSTON – Norske Shell has signed a $95-million agreement with FMC Technologies Inc. for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment for Ormen Lange.
FMC is to supply one eight-slot manifold, four pipeline end modules, related control systems, and connection equipment starting in 2Q 2011.
"FMC supplied the initial subsea system at the Ormen Lange field, which is Europe’s deepest subsea development at 3,300 ft (1,000 m),” said Tore Halvorsen, FMC’s senior vice president, Global Subsea Production Systems.
