Statoil awards Snorre tie-in to Technip

Statoil ASA has contracted Technip for €23 million ($30.17 million) in subsea development work at Snorre field in the Norwegian North Sea.

PARIS – Statoil ASA has contracted Technip for €23 million ($30.17 million) in subsea development work at Snorre field in the Norwegian North Sea. Technip is to weld and install a 9-km-long (5.6-mi) rigid steel flowing to connect Snorre A and Snorre B platforms. The contract includes installation and tie in of the flexible risers.

Technip will do the work from its Oslo, Norway, center with the flowline welded at Orkanger, Norway.

Riser installation is scheduled for next summer with the new Apache II pipelay vessel installing the flowlines in the first half of 2012.
