LUXEMBOURG– Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 an $80-million subsea umbilical, riser, flowline contract for its Svalin C development in the central Norwegian North Sea.
The project involves a subsea tieback to the Grane field complex, 6 km (3.7 mi) to the northeast.
Subsea 7’s scope includes transport to and installation of a four-slot integrated template structure at the Svalin C field; and installation of a 6-km 12-in. (30.5-cm) production flowline and a 6-km 5x8-in. (12.7x20.3-cm) pipe in pipe gas lift flowline between Svalin and Grane fields.
Additionally, the company will transport and install a 6-km subsea control umbilical between the two fields, and perform installation of a manifold, spools, protection covers, tie-in, and pre-commissioning activities.
Offshore operations should start during spring 2013 using various Subsea 7 pipelay and construction vessels. The company’s spool base at Vigra, western Norway will fabricate the flowlines.
