Ennsub to build two ultra-deepwater ROV deployment systems

ROVOP has awarded Ennsub a multi-million-pound contract for the design and manufacture of two ultra-deepwater work-class ROV launch and recovery systems to be installed into Ceona’s newbuild multiple-lay vessel, the Ceona Amazon.

ABERDEEN, UK – ROV service provider ROVOP has awarded Ennsub, a subsea design, engineering, and technology company, a multi-million-pound contract for the design and manufacture of two ultra-deepwater work-class ROV launch and recovery systems to be installed into global oil and gas subsea construction specialist Ceona’s newbuild multiple-lay vessel, the Ceona Amazon.
The scope of work involves the provision of fully integrated deployment systems capable of operating in heavy-weather conditions through the use of high-speed electric winches providing active heave compensation (AHC) capability.
The equipment, which is estimated to take around six months to design and build, will be installed into theCeona Amazon during 3Q 2014 and will begin operation in January 2015 when the vessel is due to come into service.
