HOUSTON – Chevron USA Inc. has awarded McDermott fabrication and installation work in support of the Jack and St. Malo fields in the Gulf of Mexico.

Work is scheduled to begin in 2013 with the fabrication of 21 rigid jumpers at McDermott’s Morgan City, Louisiana, facility. Then, in 2014, offshore installation is scheduled using the subsea construction vessels NorthOcean 102 and the DB 16.

The NO102 will transport and install more than 60 mi (96 km) of umbilicals, including three control and two power umbilicals, McDermott says. The jumpers and remaining subsea controls system components, including more than 80 flying leads, will be installed by the DB16.

Jack and St. Malo are in waters that reach 7,150 ft (2,197 m) in depth in Walker Ridge blocks.
