OSLO, Norway — DeepOcean has entered a two-year time charter agreement with Norwegian shipowner Volstad Maritime for the M/S Volantis subsea construction vessel.
The vessel will undergo an upgrade with battery power notation before starting the contract early next year. The time charter will run until the end of 2024, with options for extensions.
“DeepOcean has set a target to achieve a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions before 2030,” CEO Øyvind Mikaelsen said.
Volantis is a 107-m-long, DP subsea construction vessel with a 150-metric ton active heave compensated subsea crane, a UT-1 trencher, two high sea state work class ROVs and an observation ROV.
