ABERDEEN, UK – Wood has formed a strategic collaboration with FutureOn, developer of the FieldTwin technology.
They plan to co-operate on early field development studies for subsea and ocean-based energy systems.
Wood, which previously trialled FutureOn’s technology in 2019, will provide technical and integration services to operators using FutureOn’s software, and will also offer this as part of its existing range of technical services to new and existing clients.
FutureOn offers an “open and collaborative approach” to field design based on 2D and 3D visualizations that are said to support reliable early-stage production and financial forecasts.
In addition, the service is said to provide a real-time visual blueprint of a field development allowing project teams and contractors to collaborate remotely.
One plan is to deploy the technology for design of renewable energy systems with Wood’s Automated Design product for pipeline systems.
