EDINBURGH/ABERDEEN, UKRovco and PanGeo Subsea will collaborate to assess changing subsea component/environmental conditions that may lead to wider problems without planned intervention.

The move is said to be a response to the offshore energy sector’s requirement for prompt and detailed understanding of how subsea infrastructure such as anodes, corrosion protection systems, scour, and cable burial is performing and the impact of marine growth during operations and maintenance.

Rovco is contributing its SubSLAM X2 intelligent data collection system and PanGeo its 3D Sub-Bottom Imager technology to provide full 3D images of subsea assets above and below the seabed.

The offering is said to allow equipment owners and operators a simpler, more intuitive way of tracking their assets conditions within the design limitations of the original specifications.

These technologies and other ROV deployed tools provide can be used to inform on the condition of jackets, monopiles and interconnecting cables and protection systems, while the assets are still operating and electrified (HVAC or HVDC).
