HOUSTON – McDermott International has completed work on Reliance Industries’ deepwater KG-D6 Satellite Cluster project offshore eastern India.

According to Mahesh Swaminathan, senior vice president, Asia Pacific for McDermott, the program’s achievements included the deepest-water pipelay offshore India at 6,069 ft (1,850 m) and the first piggy-back pipelay by the company’s Derrick Lay Vessel 2000 – despite having to contend with cyclones and COVID-19 restrictions.

Aside from the subsea pipelines the work scope included installation of jumpers, umbilicals, in-line structures, subsea manifolds and associated structures and pre-commissioning.

McDermott also deployed the North Ocean 102 for the campaign, with around 500 personnel working offshore at peak to support installation and pre-commissioning activities.
