ATHENS, Greece – AbuQir Petroleum, a joint venture between Energean and EGPC, has awarded TechnipFMC an integrated EPCI (iEPCI) contract for a subsea tieback project offshore Egypt.
The work scope covers the EPCI for four subsea wells and the tieback to the existing AbuQir Petroleum infrastructure and processing facility.
Development wells will be drilled in water depths of 60-90 m (197-295 ft), with three located in the North El Amriya (NEA) concession, operated by the Petroamriya JV (Energean and EGAS), and one in North Idku (NI), operated by the Nipetco JV (Energean and EGPC).
NEA contains two appraised gas field discoveries, Yazzi and Python, while NI holds four discovered gas fields, one of which is development-ready.
The integrated NEA/NI should produce first gas in 2H 2022 and will access 49 MMboe of 2P reserves, 87% of which is gas.
Peak will likely be around 90 MMcf/d of gas, plus 1,000 b/d of condensates.
