Summary
The drilling rig market is tightening as day rates remain high, scrapping has declined precipitously, and rig managers look to reactivate stacked rigs. The industry is now once again in a heated rig market upcycle that has been ongoing since 2021, with higher demand and utilization now being recorded in all three offshore drilling rig segments. Cinnamon Edralin and Teresa Wilkie will provide an overview of the most active offshore drilling campaigns and provide an update on the changing rig contracting market and rig construction market.
