LONDON — Neptune Energy has discovered hydrocarbons in the Calypso prospect in the Norwegian Sea.
Deepsea Yantai, a semisubmersible rig owned by CIMC and operated by Odfjell Drilling, drilled the well on the PL938 license.
Logs have confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons. Additional data gathering may now follow to determine whether the find is commercial.
Calypso is 14 km northwest of the OKEA-operated Draugen Field and 22 m northeast of the Equinor-operated Njord A platform.
OKEA is also a partner in the current well, alongside Pandion Energy and Vår Energi.
