KØPERVIK, Norway  A warning from the Norwegian police led offshore gas trunklines operator Gassco to initiate an evacuation at the Nyhamna gas plant earlier today.

However, the situation has since been resolved, with employees returning to work.

The plant receives production from fields in the Norwegian Sea, including Ormen Lange. Gassco said gas transport was unaffected by the incident.

Gassco stated in a release, "Our priority now is to look after our people, who may have found the situation frightening. Will review the incident to learn from it, but it is up to the police and security authorities to assess the level of threat going forward."
