The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has received applications from three companies for future CO2 storage areas of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf.

OSLO, Norway— The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has received applications from three companies for future CO2 storage areas of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf.
CapeOmega, TotalEnergies EP Norge and Wintershall Dea Norge submitted bids by the deadline of June 1.
The Ministry will process their applications and will look to allocate areas in accordance with Norwegian storage regulations during the second half of 2022.
