Diamond Offshore Drilling has executed a two-year contract extension with Anadarko Petroleum, a wholly owned subsidiary of Occidental, in the US Gulf of Mexico for the Ocean BlackHawk.

HOUSTON Diamond Offshore Drilling has executed a two-year contract extension with Anadarko Petroleum, a wholly owned subsidiary of Occidental, in the US Gulf of Mexico for the Ocean BlackHawk.

The contract will start in November 2024, in direct continuation of the rig's current contract. This contract extension represents about $350 million dollars of additional backlog, excluding any managed pressure drilling services, and replaces the one-year priced option that was agreed in May 2023.

Anadarko retains three one-year unpriced options.

This contract extension brings the company's total contract backlog to about $2.1 billion.

In addition, Ocean Patriot concluded P&A campaign with an operator in the UK in mid-May and mobilized to Port of Cromarty where the rig will be marketed for future work.
